Lens Coating Guide
Prescription lenses are an investment and what better way to protect your investment than to make sure that your new lenses come with the necessary protection to help withstand the daily wear and tear that your lenses are subjected to. Adding one or more of these lens coatings, along with making sure to protect your frame and lenses by placing them in their case when not in use, only cleaning your lenses with a microfiber cloth and being diligent about cleaning your lenses with the solutions that are specifically designed to clean your lenses will help to protect your investment and keep you seeing clearly.
SCRATCH PROTECTION COATING
Scratched lenses are frustrating, unfortunately there is really no way to ensure that your lenses will not scratch over time, but by making sure that your new lenses have a scratch protectant coating on them will help to reduce the appearance of scratches thus adding a level of protection that can end up saving you money in the long run.
Most of our lens materials and designs come with a layer of scratch protection included in the price! The only exception is for our Standard CR-39 Plastic lenses in both Single Vision and Lined Multifocal designs these will not automatically come with a scratch protection but can be added to your lenses for an additional fee.
ULTRA-VIOLET PROTECTION
You wear sunscreen to protect your skin, right? Then shouldn’t your eyewear protect your eyes from those same harmful UV rays too? All our Polarized sunglass lenses come with 100% UV protection, but what about your everyday wear glasses? We got you covered! Most of our lens materials and designs come with the UV protection already embedded in the lens and it’s even included in the price! The only exception is for our Standard CR-39 Plastic Clear lenses in both Single Vision and Lined Multifocal designs, these will not automatically come with the UV protection but can be added to for an additional fee.
ANTI-GLARE COATINGS
Does the brightness of lights from oncoming cars at night hurt your eyes? Fed up with not being able to actually see your eyes in photographs? You want your lenses to be practically invisible? Then we have the solution for you! Anti-Reflection coating does all this and more!
Adding an Anti-reflection (AR-coating) to your new lenses will help to block light from reflecting off your lenses. Which is helpful when driving at night, eliminates reflections when talking to someone standing in front of you or finally being able to see those beautiful eyes in all your photographs! But wait there are even more benefits to choosing to add an AR coating to your new lenses, like making it easier to clean your lenses, reducing smudges from touching the lenses with your fingers, preventing water spots, and helping to repel dirt and dust from attaching to your lenses.
